If you find out, please let me know....
I am a retired management consultant. I returned to writing poetry after my wife, Christine, died unexpectedly in October 2023.
I found solace in writing and, in February 2024, committed to writing a poem every day. I have now written over a thousand poems and am currently creating a book about my experiences of grief and the celebration of love enriched by the trauma of loss.
In November 2025, I was awarded The Otago University Book Shop Summer Writer in Residence Award, in association with the Robert Lord Writers’ Cottage Trust. I will use the UBS residency to work on the book and research related topics in the Hocken Collections.
I live in Waimate, having left Dunedin in 2021 and Wellington in 2015.
I am an active participant in South Canterbury Live Poets, a collective that holds monthly open mic meetings and fortnightly critique sessions in Timaru, New Zealand.
